South Carolina has shaped so much of what I find beautiful - the water, marsh grass, wide skies and landscapes that don't need anything dramatic happening in them to feel special.This painting came from wanting to capture that quieter side of the Lowcountry. Instead of focusing on a landmark or recognizable building, I let the landscape itself be the subject: layers of green marsh, still water and a soft sky stretching toward the horizon.
It's simple by design. To me, that's part of what makes these places so beautiful. They feel open, familiar and peaceful - the kind of scenery that can instantly feel like home.
