Meet Me at Flight Deck
Title: Meet Me at Flight Deck
Dimensions: 6 x. 8.5 inches (Unframed)
About the Piece:
This painting started with a simple idea: I wanted to paint more of the places that feel unmistakably like Lexington.Flight Deck immediately came to mind. It isn't just a recognizable building - the sign, the water tower and that little walkway are tied to years of meals, meetups and memories for people who live here. I wanted to capture that familiarity in watercolor: the kind of place you recognize before you even need to read the sign.
When I shared the finished painting, the response from other Lexington locals showed me exactly why I want to keep creating this series. People didn't just recognize a restaurant; they shared their memories of it.
That's what I hope my local work can do. I want to preserve the places woven into our communities - the landmarks we drive past every day, the businesses we grew up visiting and the corners of town that quietly become part of our stories.
Meet Me at Flight Deck is where that idea really began to take shape; and it’s a part of a growing collection centered around familiar local places.
