This piece reminded me of the kind of streets I love wandering through in Charleston, South Carolina - colorful buildings, overflowing greenery, flowers tucked into unexpected places, and architecture with so much character.While it isn’t meant to depict one specific Charleston street, I was drawn to the same feeling: a narrow path that makes you wonder what’s just around the corner. I loved getting to combine the architectural details and ink work that have become such a recognizable part of my style with softer greenery and bright pops of color.
To me, it captures one of my favorite things about places like Charleston - the beauty isn’t only in the landmarks. Sometimes it’s found on an ordinary street, in an old window, a flowering vine, or a building that has clearly lived a little.
